Spring/Summer Scuba School: PADI Training for new and continuing divers!
RGV Scuba offers professionally-guided dive training to get your PADI Open Water Diver certification. We are doing our middle and high school student outreach for 2024, and you can get a certification that is good for a lifetime and recognized worldwide.
Often, we do outreach to middle and high schools in the community and provide training as well as options for aquatic education. Besides learning a new and rewarding skill, students will also learn about the ocean environment and our care for it.
How does the SCUBA School work?
1. Students start with comprehensive Class/Pool training. Most of the initial coursework is online, making it convenient to start at any time. Then they will choose a pool date, or we can schedule one for a group!
2. Pool training requires attending a pool date on our calendar, OR we can schedule a pool time for you at your pool, if you have access to one! For groups, we can also combine the coursework (in-person day class) and pool to be done over two days, usually a Saturday/Sunday but there are other options!
3. Once class and pool are complete, students are “scuba trained” and can take their referral on vacation, to complete checkout dives virtually anywhere there are diving options!
Students are encouraged to include family members and friends! Learning SCUBA together is a great experience, can be teambuilding, and builds individual responsibility as well as a new skill set! PADI certification is good for life, and students as young as 10 may enroll in the course. Ages 10-15 earn a Junior certification, where they will always dive with a parent or designated guardian, and students 15 and up can earn the PADI Open Water Diver certification.
Course options
SCUBA Diver Knowledge Development and Pool training, and checkout dive referral:
$195, includes all gear and course materials (discounted from $245 for students and their friends/family).
Checkout dives can be completed with us or elsewhere, and require 4 dives done over 2 days. Check with us for charter and checkout diving rates.
